What is window tint film?
Window tint film is a thin polyester/metal layer. It is available in a variety of performance levels and shades. For installation, the film is trimmed to fit your windows.
I just had my windows tinted, why do they look hazy?
It takes several days for the film to completely adhere to the window. There still may be water under the film even three days after tinting. This causes a hazy look until the water completely evaporates. When the water evaporates, your windows should look completely clear with excellent clarity.
Can I put my windows down right away?
It is recommended to leave your windows up for at least three days after tinting. This will allow the tint to almost completely dry before operating windows window.
What causes film to turn purple?
The quick answer is that cheap films turn purple. Our tinting film utilizes state-of-the-art dyes that are color stable. The benefit for customers is that our films do not turn purple like cheap tinting films sold in auto parts stores or other retail outlets.
What should I clean my windows with after I've had them tinted?
It is always safest to clean your windows with simply a wet and dry towel, however if your windows are in need of something stronger find a product that does not have ammonia in it.
What if I already have old film on my vehicle I need removed before getting it tinted?
It is always best to have a professional remove your old film before getting your car re-tinted. It could mean the difference between saving your back defoggers or removing them along with the old film.
What do the film percentages mean?
The percentage of tint is measured in the amount of light which is permitted into the vehicle, therefore 50% would be an extremely light colored film and 05% would be the darkest available. NOTE that window tinting that is too dark is cause for a traffic stop and citation. Our tint films are within the legal limits in Georgia (legal maximum is 32%).
Is the tint applied on the outside of the windows?
No, the tint is hand cut on the outside of the glass, and then placed on the interior of the glass.
How long does it take to tint my car?
It depends on the vehicle, but generally speaking, for a full car it takes about two hours, total, including prep and cleanup. Full trucks and vans can take longer than three hours. Just tinting the front two windows on a truck or van takes about one hour. These times are for cars with NO existing tint on the windows. If there is tint on the windows that needs to be taken off before applying new film, the time involved goes up drastically and can take up to six hours. During busy times and Saturdays we cannot absolutely guarantee times on cars.
